Here at Baby Batches headquarters, we are often asked when is the best time to send a baby gift.  A lot of people decide to send their baby hampers or baby gifts to the new mum in hospital and while this is a lovely idea we find it hard to judge if the new mum is in fact still in hospital.  If it’s her first baby then most of them stay the duration but second, third, fourth and God forbid fifth babies they usually don’t stay as long as they have to get home to the other child/children.

We have had many baby hampers returned to us as the mother has checked out of hospital early so our advice is to send to the new parents at home….it’s will be a lovely surprise for them as the excitement of the new little one has usually settled down so a nice Baby Batches gift sent to them at home will delight them.

We also recommend to add something for the new mum to make her feel special, our baby hampers are filled with baby goods like clothing, bibs, rugs, wraps, soap but we offer add-ons of soap, cream and even champagne…!

We have noticed a lot of people when ordering baby hampers here at Baby Batches, include the new baby’s first name and often a middle name.  Often we wonder if this middle name is either the mother’s or father’s first name or some other relative.  There are some very traditional middle names making a comeback – from Lily, Rose, James, Thomas, Jonathon, Mae, Sarah, Luke, Ruby…. right through to the more modern names – Callum, Aaron, Blake, Breanna, Zoe, Skye.   People often just stick with the one name for their newborn as it is hard enough picking the right name to go with the surname.  Both of us chose middle names for our kids – Leila and Thomas – very traditional but we think they go  perfect with their first names – Abby and Daniel!  (image via Google images)

Well here we are again….the end of another week.  Been busy here at Baby Batches headquarters….have to say though a lot of boys born this week so a lot of blue baby hampers were sent out.  Popular names for this week were William and a new one came past, Ned, we love that name!  Some girls born as well…Chloe is still popular and we had a Piper born this week…just giving all the pregnant mum’s out there some ideas for baby names.
